For most of us we graduated from riding without training wheels on a 16 inch bicycle. The 16 inch bike will accommodate an average 4 to 5 year old child. Some bicycle companies are making frames with a lower top tube clearance so younger children can fit on the frame. These bicycles are manufactured from steel but moreover aluminum which makes the weight of the bike very light and agile.
